FAMILY stands in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Haiti suffering from the devastating earthquake of January 12 that struck at Haiti's heart, and ours. The world has responded as one family to mitigate the profound human suffering in these crucial first days and weeks, focusing their efforts on Port au Prince, the area most directly affected.
While this monumental humanitarian response will continue in the areas directly affected by this disaster, we are calling your urgent attention to a second wave of support that is imperative - one that has already begun and will be needed for many more years to come. To prevent a widespread crisis of despair, tangible expressions of hope-- in the forms of schools, jobs, infrastructure and more-- are needed in Haiti. FAMILY is at work to do just that.
